Carson Valley Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Herbig to Ironwood Primary Care

Carson Valley Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Herbig to Ironwood Primary Care

Practicing medicine in the Carson Valley has always been part of the plan for Dr. Ralph Herbig.

A Douglas High School and University of Nevada, Reno graduate, Dr. Herbig has been directing the care of his patients in and around the Minden/Gardnerville area for more than 20 years and has no plans on stopping soon with his much anticipated arrival at Ironwood Primary Care.

“As a Carson Valley native, I take pride in taking care of the people I’ve known my whole life”, said Dr. Herbig. “It’s fulfilling to take care of the people I grew up with”.

Like many other longtime residents, Dr. Herbig has seen significant growth in the valley and fondly recalls playing in the alfalfa fields where the Ironwood Primary Care building is located today.

Dr. Herbig joined Ironwood Primary Care in November and values Carson Valley Medical Center’s efforts to serve the growing needs of the community.

“Everyone I work with at Ironwood Primary Care are good people that have their priorities straight”, said Dr. Herbig. “I was even able to reunite with one of my prior medical assistants that was hired-on a few months before I joined. She is also a Carson Valley native and is a fantastic assistant.”

As a primary care physician, Dr. Herbig takes pride in directing the overall care of his patients and believes that primary care physicians should be the captain of your journey to good health. Dr. Herbig has built meaningful relationships with specialists in his more than 20 years of practicing medicine in the area and knows when and who to refer his patients to.

In his freetime, Dr. Herbig can be found in the driver or passenger seat of his 1970 Jeep CJ5 with his wife exploring the Pine Nut Mountains or one of Nevada’s many ghost towns. He has climbed Jobs Peak from foothill five separate times and even spent a very cold night at the top on July 4th, 1989.

Carson Valley Medical Center offers patient-focused services that help patients manage any pain, stress, illness or disease. Regularly seeing a doctor, such as a primary care physician, can also provide opportunities for health screenings to catch any problems early when they might be easier (and less costly) to treat.

Doctor Herbig is currently accepting patients, and welcomes past patients to join him at Carson Valley Medical Center. For appointments or information, call Carson Valley Medical Center at (775) 782-1610, and press option 1, or visit www.cvmchospital.org.
