When your doctor prescribes physical therapy, our team at Carson Valley Medical Center is ready to help. You’ll be in good hands. Our certified, licensed physical therapists are trained in many different treatment methods and help care for you with compassion while respecting and supporting your desire to return to your important daily activities. Our physical therapy program is available on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Our physical therapy areas of expertise include:
Physical therapy (PT) evaluates and treats individuals whose ability to function is impaired or threatened by disease or injury. Your PT program will be personalized to your specific needs to help you overcome functional disabilities as a result of illness or injury. The goal of our patient-focused physical therapy is to improve quality of life or learn to develop new strategies to live daily life if you have a permanent disability.
Physical therapists are skilled experts to help patients with general orthopedic concerns, such as sprains, strains, and surgical recovery. They are also useful in assisting patients to overcome physical impairments, functional limitations, or coping with difficulties of a chronic or permanent disability or ongoing disease.
Your physical therapist will devise a personalized treatment program for you with the help of your physician’s physical therapy prescription. During your first visit, your physical therapist will assess your endurance, flexibility, muscle strength and tone, reflexes, and more. Based on your physical therapist’s assessment, a thorough treatment plan will be designed to help you meet your needs and goals for recovery. As you progress through physical therapy, your program will change as your needs change.
Our Rehabilitative Services Department, including Physical Therapy Services, is open from Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Contact us at 775.782.1519 for further information.
